ADA accessible portable restroom in Anaheim, California

ADA Accessible Restroom rental in Anaheim

A wide, square unit with a ground-level threshold, interior grab bars and a five-foot turning circle inside.

Mon-Sat 4am-4pm · delivered across Orange County

The accessible unit is a wider, roughly square cabin with a light gray ribbed door across most of the front and a threshold flush with the ground, so a wheelchair rolls straight in without a ramp. Inside there is a sixty-inch clear turning circle, grab bars on both flanking walls, and a lowered paper holder and latch that work from a seated position.

If your event is on public property or open to the public, this is not an upgrade - it is generally the unit that gets your permit signed. Anaheim and most Orange County jurisdictions want at least one accessible unit in every cluster of restrooms, and want it on the same accessible path of travel as everything else at the event.

The practical constraint is the ground. An accessible unit needs a firm, level approach - packed decomposed granite, asphalt or concrete. Set on soft turf it will sit at an angle and the door will not swing clean, which defeats the purpose.

01

Roll-in, no ramp

The threshold sits flush with grade and the door opens to the full width of the front wall. The approach has to be firm and level, so tell us the surface when you book and we will pick the spot with the driver.

02

Grab bars and a real turning circle

Bars on both side walls at standard height and a sixty-inch clear circle inside, so a chair can turn and square up to the seat rather than backing up back out through the door.

03

Usually required, not optional

Public events in Orange County are typically expected to provide at least one accessible unit per restroom bank. It is far cheaper to include one at booking than to add one the morning of the event.

ADA Accessible Restroom - questions we get asked

How many accessible units do I need?

The common rule of thumb is one accessible unit for every twenty standard units, with a minimum of one anywhere the public is invited. Your permit conditions may say something more specific - send them over and we will match the count.

Where in the layout does the accessible unit belong?

On the same accessible route as the rest of the event, on firm level ground, and never at the far end of a row where the approach crosses grass or gravel. Placing it at the end of a bank of standard units, closest to the path, is the usual answer.

Does it need to be separated from the other units?

No. The normal arrangement is a bank of standard units with the accessible one at the end nearest the accessible path. What it must not be is tucked behind them or in soft ground.

Is the accessible unit suitable for an active job site?

We do not place accessible units on active construction sites - the ground is rarely firm or level enough and the approach changes daily. If you need accessible facilities for site visitors, we will look at a hardstand location near the office trailer instead.

How much larger is the accessible unit than a standard one?

Considerably. Plan on roughly five feet square rather than three and a half, plus clear space in front for the door swing and the approach. Tell us the footprint you have and we will confirm before the truck rolls.

Is the accessible unit priced far above a standard one?

It is a step up from a standard unit but well below a trailer. You get the exact number on the phone before you book - there is no separate compliance surcharge.
